How To Make Halloween Safe For Your Pet

Who’s in the Halloween spirit? Who’s thinking ahead to how the Halloween festivities will affect your animal pals? This short video encourages you to ready yourself to help your animal pals through Halloween by looking at the festivities through their eyes. Yes, there’s an exercise you can do to start practicing, and yup, I’d LOVE to hear how that exercise goes for you!

The exercise is simple: see Halloween and the festivities leading up to it not through your human eyes, but through you animal pal’s eyes. If you’re a cat, what’s it like to have all these sparkly new toys – aka decorations – setting around the house? If you’re a dog, how are you affected by the different and new smells that are suddenly in your household?

This video is the first in a series about Halloween and animals. Topics that will be covered in other videos in the series are:

  • Creating A Pet Retreat
  • Door Etiquette
  • Treats
  • The Yearly Great Debate: To Costume or Not Costume Your Animal Pal
  • Decorations

This first one goes into more detail about the exercise of seeing things through your animal pal’s eyes. Give it a try and let me know how it works in the comments below. Enjoy!

Here’s To New Beginnings,

Janet
